I've been doing too much since I was in the 2nd grade. I'm a Leo, with a lot of other interesting things happening in my chart, and being busy...its just part of me. Now I am at a time in my life where I value my health, sanity and most importantly my growing family more than I do taking over the world. I've had a beautiful 10 year career as a professional DJ and I am thankful for the experiences that it has afforded me. Yet, I have never truly felt satisfied just spinning records. I am a communicator and the "talking with my hands" just isn't enough. I am currently studying and writing full-time. Both things require a lot of time and mental concentration. I find myself feeling guilty when I take a break. I cannot wait until the hour that my studying is over and I can just work work work (for myself of course). Its probably pretty obvious that I have a battle with time. Well just for fun I've decided to share my perfect 48 hour day; enjoying my success and working at the peak of my creativity.
8am: I have slept ten luxurious hours. I've dreamt vividly and awakened refreshed, happy, loved and my neck doesn't hurt.
8am-10am: I meditate and do my morning yoga.
10am-11am: I listen to some Coltrane or Ramsey Lewis Trio while I sip my tea, take my vitamins, eat a deliciously healthy breakfast (which my personal chef has prepared) . I am read my previous nights emails via an automated voice program in my computer. I immediately respond with my own voice and the email is automatically written and sent.
11am - 12am: I retreat to my own personal bathhouse where my husband Ale is already soaking in the enormous bath tub. The temperature in the room is between 85 and 95 degrees all the time with a lot of steam. By the time I bathe and wash my hair my pores are open and supple. I am wrapped by warm towels by my attendants and taken to the facial room. My esthetician prepares my skin for the day by applying ample sunscreen and free-radical protecting serum.
12am - 1pm: Time for my hair. My stylist is right on time to blow dry all of my long black tresses and give them the curl and the bounce I need. I only wear a touch of mascara, a bit of rouge and a touch of lip gloss and I am off to my walk-in closet to dress.
1pm-2pm: My personal shopper Lorenzo presents his latest finds at a recent trunk show all in my perfect size 6 (I'm 5'11" and dammit a girls gotta eat! ;-) I choose pomegranate tights and a very fitted, high collared black double-breasted mini dress with Louboutin over-the-knee stiletto boots and I am ready to go work.
2pm-3pm: Ale and I gather the family into our chauffeured car and we are off to take our two babies to their top-notch school. Afterwards we are taken to the airfield to catch a flight to L.A.
3pm-10pm: We are in L.A. to approve scouted locations for the next film our company is producing. We have a light lunch and come back for our flight back to New York.
10pm-12am: Just in time to pick up the babies and go visit spend the rest of our day with the grandparents.
12am-4am: We take long walks through our gardens before dinner and brainstorm new ideas with each other. If ideas are really cooking we go to our office and put them down on paper and enter them into "the wheel"
4am-6am: Pilates workout followed by 45 minutes of cardio with my drill-Sargent esqe trainer.
a mix of spinning, burpees, running uphill and laterally. I am a lean sublime specimen of a woman. Heeeay!
6am - 7am: I bathe with the scents of lavender and vanilla. After my dip in the tub where my entire body is exfoliated and buffed by two ladies I am fed fresh fruit and prosecco.
7am -8am: My full body massage of course.
8am - 12pm: I need to rest and snuggle with either my husband or my kids...sometimes everyone. I am a FIRM believer in snuggling and naps.
12pm-2pm: It is a special night and I need to look beyond fabulous. I am hosting my weekly dinner party. Lorenzo has a stunning chiffon forest green gown which hugs the curves yet flows. After a spritz of B by Boucheron and choosing my jewelry I am ready to see whats going on in the kitchen.
2pm to 3pm: Inspecting my long dinner table with thirty place settings I am relieved that I chose lotus blossoms floating along tea candles down a 30 foot rectangle pool (2 inches deep) of water for the centerpiece. the water and light reflects gorgeously off of the table length long Swarovski chandelier. Perfect!
3pm to 4pm: The kitchen is bustling with hard-working people, in the middle I spot my favorite redhead, Mario Batali. Mario has my complete confidence and has been a regular chef for my dinners so tonight I gave him carte blanche to choose the dishes, my only request was that he coordinate with our sommelier.
4pm to 6pm: Ale and I greet our guests and enjoy an aperitif outside on our deck which overlooks the water. The majority of our business deals, relationships and new contacts are made through our fabulous dinners.
6pm to 9pm: Dinner and great conversation.
9 to 10pm: We thank our guests and retire to bed for the next 10 hours.....
My perfect 48 hours, "People who don't dream, don't have much."
Back to work!!! What is your dream 48 hour day?
